“I love each of you with the same love that the Father loves Me. Let My love nourish your hearts. If you keep My commands, you will live in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands, for I am nourished and empowered by His love. My purpose in telling you these things is so that the joy that I experience will fill your hearts with overflowing gladness!” John 15:9-11 Passion Translation

According to this verse, God loves you with the same love that God loves God! Don’t you just love that? And if you and I abide long enough, we will encounter His tangible love in our lives. He longs to cascade His love over you as a waterfall of liquid love.

And His love never changes. He loves you right now with the FULL extent of His love. But many, many people in Church today are not real sure if they believe that because they don’t seem to be experiencing it. You see, it’s one thing to know that Father loves you—it’s quite another to experience His love. And His love is meant to be experienced!

Unfortunately for so many people, the Fathers love has been misrepresented and misunderstood so they go through life never really experiencing His amazing love.

What is keeping you from personally experiencing more of His love?

*Is it your upbringing? His love will set you free from every negative emotion of all that you have been through. The Lord wants to untether you from all of the negative emotions of your past.

*Is it regrets, mistakes, failures or past sins? ALL OF US have a past. ALL OF US. The historical memory of what we have done or what has been done to us, will not change. But the emotions attached to that memory will change by His love and forgiveness.

*Is it bad theology that you have been taught? Seek the Scriptures diligently to find out how much He truly loves you and you will not be disappointed!

Friends, Father God really, really, really loves you! You are His favorite! And He wants to unfold more and more of His love to you.

So how do we begin to learn to not just know about His love, but receive His love?

1. Find yourself a quiet place and express your love to Him.
2. Ask the Holy Spirit who searches our hearts to show you all that is hindering you from receiving His love. Then quietly listen for what He brings to your heart
3. Forgive, ask for forgiveness and/or forgive yourself.
4. And then receive His love and embrace by faith. You may not always FEEL something right away but I am convinced that the more you abide, you are setting yourself up for a wonderful encounter in His love. Get yourself some verses to quote about His love. Like in the Psalms, John 15 or Zephaniah 3:17 to just name a few. Say phrases like, “Father, I receive Your love for me.” TAKE YOUR TIME AND ENJOY HIS PRESENCE
